Car shopping…If only!

One of the things on our bucket list of "things to do" before we leave SA is to tour the Mercedes-Benz plant in East London.  This was also on the bucket list of the Thomas's.  We squeezed in a date before they left for America.  What a treat it was.  Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures in the plant.  All I can say, is if you ever get a chance to tour an automobile plant…just do it.  Technology at it's best.  Robotic arms everywhere.  Sister Thomas said, " I keep imagining what would happen if one of these robots took on a life of it's own.  It would make a great horror movie.

This particular plant turns out 460 cars per day!

One of the engineers designed this Mercedes and had it hand-beaded!

It's a Party for Relief Society!

This year's birthday party for the RS was so much fun.  There were nine of us there which is pretty good considering there are only 20 women total in our branch.  We celebrated by learning a new RS song, learning about Emma Smith, and enjoying a lovely meal.

We also did the fun activity of writing about each sister on the white board as she sat unsuspectingly waiting for the BIG reveal.  Good, good women!!!

O Ye That Embark...

We are so grateful to the East London Stake for including us each year in their Youth Conference.  What a blessing for our youth and for our adult leaders also.
We were unable to attend due to the Stake Conference in Port Elizabeth.  The theme this year was based on "O Ye That Embark", with activities built on that idea.  Our youth had a blast as well as the adults.

More Mormons…Port Elizabeth Stake Conference

President Wheeler and I were invited to attend the Port Elizabeth Stake Conference March 6th and 7th.  We have about 80 members in our branch.  What a thrill it was to meet with so many members from South Africa.  There were so many in attendance that they used every chair in the building.

Stake Presidency:  (L to R)
We ran in to Mzwabanut Kondile's sisters while there.  He is our Elder's quorum President.  The sister in the red is going to the Johannesburg Temple this week to be sealed to her husband.
We also met Brother Mosiah.  He and his beautiful family have visited with us in Port Alfred and they spoke in our branch.
